About Christ-St. Paul’s Church
Christ-St. Paul's is an active, friendly community of people seeking God’s kingdom, following the way of Jesus, and helping our community flourish. On Sunday’s we gather to worship in the Anglican tradition with a mix of old and new music styles. We have something for everyone! Throughout the week we create space for developing our relationships with God and each other through intentional Christian spiritual formation.
Located in western Charleston County, CSP is a hub for members from close-by Hollywood, Ravenel, and Meggett, reaching out in all directions: east to West Ashley and Johns Island, south to Edisto, north to Summerville, and west to Adams Run.
Ultimately we believe the God found in the Bible is real and knowable, and he desires to know you! If you don’t know him, we’d love to introduce you to him! If you do know him, we would love for you to worship with us!
Our Mission
We understand the task of the church to be the evangelism and transformation of God’s creation into the image of Christ. Our goal is to walk with each other as we each endeavor to move towards a deeper formation in Christ. We do this by seeking the kingdom of God and following the way of Jesus. Through this we will see healing and flourishing come our community and all the world.
Our Values
Our Role in the Diocese
CSP is part of The Anglican Diocese of South Carolina, following the leadership of Bishop Chip Edgar. Our leaders and members participate in diocesan committees, conferences, retreats, and gatherings, and have many relationships with other churches and individuals across the diocese. The diocese covers 24 counties in the eastern part of South Carolina, and is recorded to have 20,763 baptized members and 53 parishes. CSP is part of the West Charleston Deanery.
The Anglican Diocese formed in 2012 when the historical Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina split into two groups after a long period of conflict over theology and authority within the national Episcopal Church. Bishop Lawrence and a majority of the members of the historical diocese left the Episcopal Church but continued to claim diocesan property, including church buildings, and to be the continuation of the historical diocese. The Anglican Diocese of South Carolina joined the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) in 2017.*
As part of the ACNA, we follow the leadership of Archbishop & Primate The Most Rev. Stephen D. Wood. We adhere to the ACNA Statement of Faith.
